Employment after Retirement

Our retired Police officers are knowledgeable in police work and of good physique. Their professional training, experience and exposure are highly recognized and are considered suitable for many jobs, especially those related to security, housing estate management, investigation, etc. The Resettlement Services Unit of the Force provides free services to Employers in recruiting retired police officers and job placement services for Job Seeking Retired PoliceOfficers . Friends of the Library Club

If on your retirement you have spare time,If you are a book loverIf you want to help Force members to develop good reading habits ¡K

Friends of the Library Club is appealing for your support. The Club is a newly established interest group for Force retirees (both disciplined and civilian staff) that provides voluntary service to the Force Library. The Force has planned to upgrade the Force Library into a specialised library on applied policing with research capability.

The Force has invested heavily into our library collection and facilities. The Force Library on 7/F, Arsenal House is very spacious with comfortable sofas and reading tables and has a commanding view of the harbour. It is equipped with hi-tech computers connected to the Internet, POINT and our online library catalogue; it also has a state-of-the-art audio-visual room.

If you do enjoy reading and serving others, you are most welcome to join us as volunteers to help take our Force Library to new heights. As members of the Club, you will:

  • Suggest new titles that we can acquire for our readers;
  • Take part in organizing Library promotional activities;
  • Share readings with Force members on strategic topics; and
  • Provide Library services e.g. counter duties, guided tour.
    Details will be announced in due course.

You will have plenty of time to look into what we have in our collection and spend some quiet moments in our roomy library. Interested Force retirees please indicate your interest by emailing us at library@police.gov.hk.

Retired Members of Central Fund / Family Protection Fund

Member who, at the time of his retirement, has joined the respective Fund for five years or more and is a contributor to the Fund at the time of retirement, is entitled to the following non-insurance benefits:

    • A retirement souvenir
    • A special grant of HK$5,000 (non-insurance benefit) to the spouse/dependants upon his/her passing away.

Force Holiday Homes and Hotel Package

Holiday Home & Hotel Packages

The Hong Kong Police Force offers holiday home and hotel packages for retired disciplanary officers and retired departmental grade cilivian officers. Retired officers may apply the remaining quota after the ballot exercise. The remaining quota is filled up on first-come-first-served basis.

Applicant should enquire Recreation Unit (2860 3251) by phone or in person to the Recreation Unit at 38/F, Arsenal House, Police Headquarter before application. Application should be made and confirmed before 12:00 noon 3 days in advance of the check-in day in order to allow enough processing time.
