THE first batch of about 100 new Police motorcycles were due to arrive in Hong Kong early this month.

¡@¡@The BMW R850RT Police motorcycle comes with special features including an anti-lock braking system (ABS) and a windshield that can be adjusted to suit various weather conditions.

The new-look Police bike - the BMW R850RT.

¡@¡@Training courses to familiarise officers with the new bikes and their features will be held at the Police Driving School over the coming months.

¡@¡@Police Driving School instructor Station Sergeant Yuen Tik-man said that two-day courses would be organised for front-line traffic officers and other relevant colleagues.

If you are 'up to your eyes in something', it means that you are overwhelmed with a particular matter or an excessive amount of something.

"Thank you, Sergeant Poon. We'll see what else Amy can remember. We'll call you if there is anything else."

¡@¡@Mr Chan closed the apartment door and turned to face Amy. Mrs Chan was holding her hand as they sat together on the sofa.

¡@¡@"Amy, you've done very well to remember seeing the van outside the building. Sergeant Poon said they now had some vital clues to help them find the kidnappers. I guess the shock of Ying-ying, Ying-yen and Ying-kai's disappearance had pushed it to the back of your mind. Well done."

¡@¡@Amy smiled but inside she felt awful. If her parents ever found out that it hadn't been pushed to the back of her mind, and that she had been keeping it from them, they would be so upset.

¡@¡@"I have to go out now. I promised to go to Aaron's place to study," she said, rushing out.

¡@¡@Amy met Aaron playing basketball in the court outside his apartment block. She sat glumly by the side of the court as he raced up and down. Just as she was about to get out her books, something caught her eyes.

¡@¡@"Aaron! Look, I think that's the kidnappers' van!" she whispered, pointing down the street. A yellow removal van had stopped at the traffic lights. Amy was sure it was the same one she had seen outside her block on the day of the kidnap.

¡@¡@She grabbed Aaron by the arm and raced after it. The pair ran as fast as they could down the road and followed the van around a corner. Amy looked around, hoping that she would catch a glimpse of it.

¡@¡@"This way!" cried Aaron, yanking Amy so hard that she nearly fell over. He had seen the van behind some bushes, as it headed into a housing estate.

¡@¡@The pair ran until they felt their lungs would burst. Just when Amy felt she couldn't go on, the van came to a halt. Amy and Aaron hid behind a clump of trees, not daring to move.

¡@¡@"What's going on?" Aaron said. They could see two men climbing out of the driver's cab and going round to the back of the van.

¡@¡@"Maybe the triplets are in there!" said Amy.

¡@¡@The two men came round to the back of the van and opened its doors. It was full of furniture. It was the wrong van.
