The Force's KM projectsThe Force's KM projects

Following the success of the Force in winning the 2013 Hong Kong Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise (MAKE) Award and the Asian MAKE Award in August and October respectively this year, the Force has been voted as one of the 2013 Global MAKE Award winners.

The MAKE Award is an annual competition organised by an independent KM organisation and held in Hong Kong, Asia, Europe, America to recognise the achievements of outstanding enterprises and organisations in successfully implementing corporate-wide KM programmes.

The 2013 Global MAKE Award adjudicating panel comprised Global Fortune 500 senior executives and KM experts. After three rounds of stringent assessment, the panel gave recognition to the Force for its continuous efforts and success in creating an enterprise knowledge-driven culture.  The prestigious award that the Force has won belongs to the "Independent Operating Units" (IOU) category, which includes government departments, state enterprises, non-profit-making organisations, and the independent companies or divisions of multi-national corporations.

There are 12 Global (IOU) MAKE Award winners this year, including, besides the Force, government departments and business corporations over the world. This is the first time a Hong Kong organisation has won the Global MAKE Award and for the whole of China, the Force is one of the two enterprises that have captured this year's Global (IOU) MAKE Award, the other being a Mainland corporation.

The Force is also the only police service that has captured this year's Global (IOU) MAKE Award.

The Knowledge Management being practised in the Force aims at enhancing organisational performance. Officers' continuous contribution to and support for KM activities is vital for the Force's excellent performance in KM.  Formations or officers wishing to make more contributions to or know more about Force KM may contact the Research Centre of the Specialised Services Training Centre of Police College.
