Following the previous OffBeat article on the KM journey, we introduce the number "2" in this article.  The number "2" represents the two full time KM civilian staff members, Senior Knowledge Management Officer (SKMO) and Knowledge Management Officer (KMO), working in the KM office in the Research Centre of the Specialised Services Training Centre at Police College Headquarters.

The two KM Officers perform an important role in the Force KM Scheme, providing  services to enhance the Force's competitive edge in policing by helping the Force to codify information and knowledge through development and maintenance of KM databases in POINT, to enhance officers' understanding of KM through briefings conducted at the PC Module II and JCC training and to offer coordinated support to the four KM Champions and KM Champion Districts' related activities.

With their knowledge and connection in KM, the two KM Officers, in collaboration with the Hong Kong Polytechnic University's Knowledge Management and Innovation Research Centre  help the Research Centre supervise a joint research project in KM.

On April 25, the Specialised Services Training Centre  and the KM Ambassadors Team of the Force Knowledge Management Peer Adviser Scheme invited Emergency Unit Hong Kong Island and the Quick Reaction Force to conduct the 54th Knowledge Cafe entitled "Rural Policing in Action" to share their practical rural policing experience.  The session was again well received by various formations with fruitful exchanges.
