In a bid to help the Non-ethnic Chinese (NEC)  integrate into the local community, Yuen Long District (YLDIST) arranged an inter-departmental meeting with NEC community leaders on August 13 to discuss matters of concerns in Yuen Long.

Chaired by District Commander, Chief Superintendent Tsang Cheung-tat, the meeting was joined by more than 30 local stakeholders, including NEC leaders, representatives from Non-government Organisations (NGO), Home Affairs Department, Lands Department, Immigration Department and Labour Department.

The meeting started with YLDIST giving an introduction on NEC policing strategy, after which the government presentatives introduced their services and covered issues of concerns. The NEC community leaders and NGOs representatives also shared their views on matters of interest in the local community.

The NEC community leaders appreciated YLDIST's efforts to arrange the meeting to provide a platform for stakeholders to discuss and address matters affecting the NEC community.
