India Association honours KW officers 
 
The India Association presented Outstanding Police Officer Award to officers from Kowloon West (KW) on August 15. This is the eighth year in a row the association has presented the award to recognise Force members' services and contributions to the community.
 
Commissioner Tsang Wai-hung was present at the award presentation ceremony, together with Director of Operations Wong Chi-hung, KW Regional Commander Cheung Kwai-kee, District Commander Yau Tsim Yu Tat-chung, and Deputy District Commander Yau Tsim Siu Kit-hung.  Also present were Consul General of India, Mr Prashant Agrawal, Secretary of Education, Mr Ng Hak-kim, and Chairman of the Equal Opportunities Commission, Mr Chow Yat-ngok. 
 
The India Association presented the Outstanding Police Officer Award to Assistant District Commander (Crime) Yau Tsim Tsang Yiu-wo and Senior Inspector Tong Ka-lun from District Anti-triad Section Yau Tsim for displaying professionalism and devotion to duty whilst mounting an operation to find a "missing person at risk" in Yau Tsim area on June 29. Eventually, the police succeeded in locating the missing person, a six-year-old Nepalese boy.
 
QRF NTN praised 
The senior staff of the management company of a residential area in Tai Po called at Operations NTN on August 25 and presented two banners, which were accepted by Senior Superintendent David Jordon, as a token of appreciation for the performances of officers from No. 3 Platoon of the Quick Reaction Force New Territories North (QRF NTN) in a burglary case. 
 
A burglar made off with $400 000 worth of property in the area in late July. After receiving a report, officers of the Platoon immediately sealed off the nearby area for a thorough search, eventually apprehending a suspect and recovering the stolen property.
 
YLDIST officers praised
 
The Yuen Long District Fight Crime Committee (YL DFCC) Briefing cum Good Citizens Award and Outstanding Police Officers Award Ceremony was held on August 27, with Yuen Long District Officer, Mr Mak Chun-yu, Yuen Long District Council Chairman, Mr Leung Che-cheung, YL DFCC Chairman, Mr Lee Yuet-man, and Acting YLDIST Commander Kerry Carew officiating. 
 
Mr Lee kicked off the ceremony by introducing the DFCC's action plan and publicity programme for the coming year. After this, the officiating guests and DFCC members presented the Outstanding Police Officers Award to 30 officers for their  performances. 
 
In addition, two members of the public were presented with Good Citizens Award as a token of appreciation for their assistance in fighting crime. Finally, community representatives presented banners to YLDIST for officers' contributions.
