For Traffic Kowloon West (T KW), road safety education preferably starts at a tender age. Therefore, it held a "Baby Crawling Competition" for the first time on August 17, hoping that through this parent-baby activity, the parents would know more about road safety, and pass on road safety knowledge to their children at an early age.

Lending support and officiating at the competition alongside T KW Acting Superintendent (SP) Lau Tat-fai were Chairlady of the Organising Committee of Yau Tsim Mong Road Safety Campaign, Ms Kwan Sau-ling, Chairman of Sham Shui Po Road Safety Campaign Committee, Mr Cheng Muk-lam, Honourable President of Kowloon City Road Safety Campaign Committee and Chairman of Promotion Team, Mr Lo Kei-fai, and Commander of Kowloon West Region of Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol, Mr Chan Shu-lui.

Speaking at the competition, Acting SP Lau stressed that T KW would continue to resort to publicity, education and a multi-agency and community-based approach to heighten public awareness of road safety and support the vision - "Zero accident on the Road, Hong Kong's Goal".

The contestants, divided into two age groups, took part in a total of 25 heats, crawling to the finish line within a time limit, and the baby winners were awarded souvenirs.
