"My sincere thanks to all of you for giving the best of yourselves in maintaining law and order in Hong Kong in the past nine weeks. For all frontline officers and support staff who have participated in this prolonged and difficult operation, I applaud you for your perseverance, dedication and loyal service.

 

With your unrebating efforts, some of the illegally occupied roads have been successfully reopened. You have taken decisive and resolute action against protestors who still chose to continue to defy the law. During the operation, you have confronted all sorts of stress, danger and difficulties, and have displayed unswerving determination in upholding the rule of law and maintaining law and order. For the sake of Hong Kong and the vast majority of the public who have all along been supporting us, we shall never flinch from our mission.

 

It makes me proud that you have remained steadfast and devoted to your sworn duty even in face of this immensely trying situation. I assure you all that Force management will do everything it can to support our officers as we rise to this unprecedented challenge. I firmly believe that through continuing to stay united, handle all our dealings with neither fear nor favour, and remain calm and professional, we will succeed in restoring public order and public safety, and in proving to the public that Hong Kong Police is here to serve the people of Hong Kong."
