At the 2015 Fight Crime Conference held on March 21, the Conference Chairman, Mr Yeung Yiu-chung, called on the public to remain united, work together to combat crime, and continue to maintain Hong Kong's advantage of having good law and order for decades.

The Conference was organised by the Fight Crime Committee (FCC) with "Be Vigilant Against Crime" as this year's theme. The Conference serves as a forum for FCC members and the 18 District Fight Crime Committees (DFCC) to exchange views on law and order and fight crime issues.

The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, delivered an opening address at the Conference, while the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mrs Carrie Lam, gave a keynote speech as Chairperson of the FCC.

As curtain-raisers for the Conference, five pre-conference discussion group meetings were organised for members of the 18 DFCCs to deliberate upon various law and order issues, namely domestic violence, youth drug problem and youth crime, "quick cash" crime, technology crime and commercial crime, and burglary and home security. The discussion groups presented the outcome of their discussions at the Conference.

In addition, nearly 400 FCC and DFCC members attending the Conference participated in a discussion forum and shared views on the law and order situation with the heads of policy bureaux and departments.

Other officials attending the Conference included Secretary for Justice, Mr Rimsky Yuen, Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Tsang Tak-sing, Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Matthew Cheung, Secretary for Security, Mr Lai Tung-kwok, Secretary for Education, Mr Eddie Ng Hak-kim, Commissioner of Police Tsang Wai-hung and Commissioner of Correctional Services, Mr Yau Chi-chiu.
