警聲

For the District Investigation Team (DIT) 9 of Tai Po District (TPDIST), every crime report should not be taken lightly no matter what offence is involved, including stealing a pet dog.

In December last year, the dog owner kept her dogs, Latte and Mocha, in the kennel of a clubhouse in Sheung Shui.  After lunch, the owner found the kennel lock tampered with and her dogs missing. Latte was later recovered, but Mocha was nowhere to be found.

Investigating into the case, DIT officers arrested a suspect, who admitted that he had abandoned the two stolen dogs in Yuen Long. The officers then mounted a search in Yuen Long and approached voluntary animal care groups, veterinarians and pet shops for information. The officers' efforts eventually paid off when Mocha was located and reunited with its owner.

Mocha's owner was so grateful that she called at Tai Po Police Station with her two dogs to say thank you to the DIT officers.
