Accompanied by his Deputy Consul-General, Mr Masaru Igawahara and Police Liaison Officer, Mr Tetsuyuki Noda, the Consul-General called on Mr Lo on May 28. They discussed a wide range of policing issues, including crime trend, challenges for the Force, and matters related to the Japanese community in Hong Kong.

Mr Quaedvlieg led two delegates to pay a courtesy call on Mr Lo on June 2. Mr Lo and Mr Quaedvlieg discussed topics of mutual concern, in particular border policing. Both expressed a strong desire to develop a close partnership between the Force and the Australian Border Force to be established.

On July 1, ACBPS and the Department of Immigration and Border Protection will be amalgamated to form the Australian Border Force.

Mr Woodhouse called on Mr Lo on June 3, accompanied by the Consul-General of New Zealand in Hong Kong, Ms Gabrielle Rush, and two delegates. He presented to Mr Lo a certificate of appreciation as a token of thanks to Narcotics Bureau for its contribution to two joint anti-narcotics operations in 2015, which successfully stopped 123 kg of methamphetamine (Ice) from entering New Zealand.

Both agreed to further enhance co-operation in combating narcotics-related or other cross-jurisdictional crimes as well as in training.
