Following the success of the first "Sharing with Commanders" session in May, Yuen Long District (YLDIST) held the second session in Tin Shui Wai Police Station on July 10, where Tin Shui Wai Divisional Commander, Superintendent (SP) Leung Kwong-kin, played host to 30 students from the YLPMSAA Tang Siu Tong Secondary School, in a bid to enhance understanding between the police and the younger generation.

The students began their visit by touring the report room and detention facilities, and getting a briefing by officers on their basic equipment. After this, SP Leung introduced the daily operations of his Division and talked about his police career. In an informal setting, the students raised many questions and engaged SP Leung in a wide-ranging discussion, which covered police recruitment, salaries and fringe benefits for police officers and even current affairs.

At the end of sharing session, two members of the Yuen Long District Fight Crime Committee, Mr Kwok Keung and Ms Wong Wai-ling, were invited to share with the students their experiences of co-operating with the police in fighting crime, enabling the students to recognize that they too have a role to play.
