Lantau District (LTDIST) and New Territories South Regional Crime Prevention Office (NTS RCPO) hosted an anti-burglary seminar on June 8 for over 20 representatives from the building management offices in Tung Chung and Discovery Bay as well as those for private estates under construction. Members of the Islands District Council were also present to support the event.

In his opening speech, Deputy District Commander LTDIST, Superintendent (SP) Ho Yun-sing, described the partnership among the community, security industry and the police as the key to preventing and fighting crimes, and called on the participants to remain alert to crimes and provide crime information to the police.

At the seminar, officers from Lantau North Division outlined the crime trend and criminals' modus operandi, and re-iterated the importance of co-operation between the police and the security personnel. NTS RCPO officers also introduced the security systems for houses and construction sites.

The participants thanked LTDIST for organising an event that would boost the communication and co-operation between the building management offices and the police.
