To facilitate understanding between local and Non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) youths, Lantau District (LTDIST) has rolled out "Project One World". The "Project One World" football competition was held on July 29 in Tung Chung, attracting four teams, namely "Project One World" football team A and B, Chelsea Soccer School (Hong Kong) football team, and Christian Zheng Sheng College football team.


Besides excited matches, there was a friendly match staged by teams from New Territories South (NTS) Regional Headquarters and LTDIST.


Prizes were presented by Regional Commander NTS Lui Hon-kwok, Islands District Fight Crime Committee Member, Ms Wong Mei-fung, Hong Kong Football Team Captain, Mr Yip Hung-fai, and experienced football commentator, Mr Chung Chi-kwong.


Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Mr Lui described football as "a great way" to engage youngsters and break down barriers. He also encouraged the participants to set out a clear goal, realize their potential and lead a meaningful life.


"Project One World" football team has been trained for months under the "Project One World" football-training programme. The team is also multi-ethnic, comprising players from Pakistan, Chile, Croatia, the United Kingdom, Canada and India.
