Assistant Commissioner (Operations) Cheung Tak-keung has appointed Superintendent (SP) Ho Ka-fei to succeed SP Kao Yau-ki as Officer Commanding (OC) of the Force Escort Group (FEG).

In a ceremony held at Police Headquarters on July 23, Mr Cheung presented a letter of appointment to SP Ho and a letter of appreciation to SP Kao.

SP Ho, who is SP (Enforcement and Control) in Traffic New Territories South, had worked closely with the FEG in a number of operations. With SP Ho's operational and traffic experiences, Mr Cheung is confident that he is a very suitable candidate to take over the job of OC FEG and to further develop its professionalism.

Thanking SP Kao for his contributions to the FEG, Mr Cheung pointed out that SP Kao had maintained the operational efficiency of the FEG and consolidated its position as a professional, highly organised and well-managed secondary duty cadre.

As one of the Force's secondary duty cadres, the FEG comprises 59 officers from the five regional traffic formations and provides various traffic escort services for VIP visits and movement of high value cargo, in addition to high-risk prisoner escorts.
