Invited by Hospital Authority, Regional Crime Prevention Office Kowloon East (RCPO KE) ran an "Experience Workshop on Hospital Security" in Queen Elizabeth Hospital on July 14. The main objective of the event was to remind medical staff to stay vigilant against the crimes commonly seen in hospitals, and adopt security measures.

The workshop attracted over 100 participants, including doctors, nurses, supporting staff and security guards. The proceedings were simultaneously transmitted live to other hospitals in Kowloon Central Cluster through video-conferencing, including Kowloon Hospital, Buddhist Hospital, Hong Kong Eye Hospital, Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Centre, and Rehabaid Centre.

RCPO officers outlined the natures and causes of the crimes that are common in hospitals, offered preventive measures, guidelines on staff security, ways to manage keys and explained legal knowledge and the work of the police. The officers also discussed many topics of common concerns with the audience. All the participants agreed that the workshop was useful and informative.
