Psychological Services Group (PSG) held a "Balances and Wisdom" Seminar on December 8 with Mr Chiu Tsang-hei, an experienced musical professional, as a guest speaker. Among the 220 participants were Deputy Commissioner (Operations) Wong Chi-hung and Assistant Commissioner (Personnel) Lau Chi-wai.

Mr Chiu shared his experience of many years in the musical sector, especially experience of facing challenges with a positive attitude. He said in face of challenges, it was important for people to possess a set of values to support themselves. Whether or not people can overcome challenges also depended on how well they were equipped, he added.

It was also very important to face failures with a positive mindset, Mr Chiu continued. One must also constantly engage in self-reflection, so as not to make the same mistake over and over again, he noted.

Referring to family, Mr Chiu cautioned that in pursuing one's dreams, one would lose work-life balance. Just like police work, if one wanted to get support from family, one had to communicate effectively the nature and timetable of one's work.

PSG will organise more "Balances and Wisdom" seminars this year, and the next one has been scheduled for March 14 with Mr Tsang Chi-wah, a renowned radio and television presenter and columnist writer, as guest speaker.
