The representative of an eatery group and the victim of a deception case called at Tai Po District (TPDIST) on March 22 and presented tapestry banners to District Commander Patrick Laidler and detectives in appreciation of the latter's efforts to bust two crime cases.


In the first case, a burglar broke into an eatery in Tai Po on March 4 and got away with property worth $230,000. Officers picked up a suspect two days later.


The deception case occurred in 2010, involving $80,000. Following a thorough investigation, officers arrested a suspect, who was subsequently sent to jail for six months.
