With a view to learning more about Marine Police's latest efforts in tackling illegal immigrants (IIs), the Secretary for Security (S for S), Mr Lai Tung-kwok, and the Permanent Secretary for Security, Mr Joshua Law, called on the Marine Police Regional Headquarters on April 13.

Mr Lai and Mr Law visited the Marine Regional Command and Control Centre, where they got to know the operations and functions of the Central Command System. Marine officers briefed them on how technology was used to enhance their detection and interception capabilities, followed by a demonstration of Marine Police's communication system and a high-speed interception exercise.

Mr Lai and Mr Law also had a fruitful discussion with Marine officers on how to continue fighting the sneaking of IIs into Hong Kong.
