The Regional Public Order Event Investigation Team of Kowloon West (RPOEIT KW) held two sharing sessions on public events on April 7 and 19, during which three speakers shared with around 70 officers from Police Tactical Unit their knowledge and experience gained from large-scale public events.

The speakers, namely Chief Inspector Li Chi-kin, Senior Inspector Tse Tsz-ching and Sergeant Chung Man-hon, introduced the structure and functions of RPOEIT KW, the importance of evidence gathering in public events and the challenges. They also spoke on the offences an individual may commit during public events as well as the corresponding enforcement actions. The participants actively exchanged views during group discussions.

RPOEIT KW is going to hold similar sharing sessions for its four Districts as well as Emergency Unit and Traffic Formation of KW with a view to equipping frontline officers to handle public events more professionally and effectively.
