To update frontline officers of the latest strategy targeting financial intermediaries deception, a briefing was held by Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB) on April 29 for inspectors from the Regional Intelligence Unit, Regional Crime Unit, District Intelligence Section, District Crime Squad as well as Commanders of Operations Support Sub-unit.


Chief Inspector (Intelligence) of CCB Tsang Chun-kit kicked off the briefing with an outline of the overall strategy and approach to curb financial intermediaries deception, including enhanced enforcement, intelligence, regulatory measures, publicity and prevention, and training. Then Acting Chief Inspector of Regional Crime Unit of Kowloon West Fan Chun-yip gave an overview of the trend of deception and the modus operandi, and enlightened the attendants with investigation skills. Senior Inspector (Intelligence) of CCB Lee Ying-chi also briefed the officers of the streamlined process in collating intelligence to facilitate a comprehensive analysis.


The briefing enabled officers from all Regions to understand the Force's unified approach in tackling financial intermediaries deception.
