Acting Deputy Commissioner (Management) Chiu Wai-yin officiated at the opening ceremony of the Community Chest Wheelock Swim for Millions 2016 on October 30. The event featured four categories of races: Relay Race (Corporate/Disciplined Force/School), Family Relay Race, Leaders' Lap and Golden Kilometre Open Race. The relay races attracted over 100 teams, including three four-member teams from the Police Swimming Club, which raised $105,000 for the Community Chest.

Under Secretary for Security Mr Lee Ka-chiu was the guest of honour at the award presentation ceremony. Other officiating guests included Commissioner of the Independent Commission Against Corruption Mr Peh Yun-lu, Director of Immigration Mr Tsang Kwok-wai, Director of Fire Services Mr Li Kin-yat and Acting Commissioner of Correctional Services Mr Lam Kwok-leung.
