The Force launched the HKP Instagram (www.instagram.com/hongkongpoliceforce) on November 17 with a view to fostering community participation and expanding the communication platform.

After the Hong Kong Police (HKP) Facebook was rolled out in October last year, the Police Public Relations Branch (PPRB) conducted a comprehensive review and came up with a suggestion for the Force to make full use of the social media to enhance communication with young people. The Instagram has a simple interface, which enables the Force to promote the professionalism and humanity of police work to the public with the aid of photographs. The HKP Instagram and HKP Facebook will complement each other so that members of the public, especially the younger ones, will learn more about the Force from different perspectives.

On the same day, the Force introduced to the media the new Chief Superintendent (CSP) of PPRB Fok Lok-sang at a tea reception. Mr Fok was confident of maintaining a cordial working relationship with the media and gaining public support for police work. The outgoing CSP of PPRB, Au Chin-chau, thanked the media for their support for and trust in the Force.
