Blue Moon series and sharing with PolyU

The Police College organised two knowledge management (KM) activities in mid-November.

At the seventh KM sharing session of the Blue Moon series on November 16, Shatin District Assistant Commander (Crime) Leung Kwok-wing, Chief Inspector of Kowloon West Regional Intelligence Unit Leung Oi-lam, Senior Inspector (SIP) of Crime Wing Headquarters Kwok Yat-leung and SIP of Financial Investigation Division Lai Yu-ho shared their respective learning experience in the Netherlands, South Australia, New South Wales in Australia, and the United States. In addition to giving a talk on counter-terrorism strategies, the management of probationary officers, handling of mentally incapacitated persons and investigation techniques of overseas law enforcement agencies, they shared their views on how these skills could be applied in the Force.

On November 23, the Police College received a group of teaching staff and students from the Department of Computing of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). Superintendent of Research Centre Tse Yuk-lung and Principal Technical Officer of Learning Technologies Division Dr Leung Chi-lun briefed the visitors on the Force's KM journey and the application of learning technologies in the Force. Then Dr Walter Fung and Dr Peter Ng of PolyU shared with the officers their research projects on virtual reality/augmented reality, game-based learning and their KM application. The two sides would continue to explore opportunities for collaboration, learning and sharing.
