The Crime Prevention Bureau (CPB) hosted a Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) Workshop from August 7 to 11, with crime prevention and security risk management expert Mr Rick Draper from Australia acting as a facilitator.

Mr Draper took the participants through various CPTED principles, and cited examples to illustrate their application and the strategies to prevent crime. Twenty participants from the CPB, Regional Crime Prevention Offices, Witness Protection Unit, Critical Infrastructure Security Coordination Centre and Marine Region said that the workshop facilitated them in applying the concepts of CPTED at work.

Acting Chief Superintendent (Crime Support) Lee Wai-man congratulated the participants on the completion of the workshop at a graduation ceremony. Superintendent Wong Kai-chung of the CPB said that the Force had incorporated the CPTED concepts into the Standard Crime Prevention Course.
