Crime Headquarters of Kowloon West Region (KW) conducted a workshop on financial investigation at its Regional Headquarters on September 22 to enhance the knowledge and skills of frontline officers in handling money laundering cases. The event drew a full house of some 50 frontline crime officers.


Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions (Proceeds of Crime) Ms Chan Fung-shan from the Department of Justice (DoJ) was invited to explain the procedures in and the key to applying for a Restraint Order and a Confiscation Order. The moderator of the event, Chief Inspector Hung Ngan of Team 4 of KW Regional Crime Unit, shared experience in implementing the "No Consent" mechanism and talked about a few recent court judgments. The event was well received by the attendees, and forged closer co-operation between the Force and the DoJ.
