The Junior Police Call (JPC) Annual Meeting 2017 cum Luncheon was held at the Police Headquarters on May 5, with over 300 JPC Central Advisory Board members, JPC Honorary Presidents, Police Community Relations Office staff and JPC members taking part in the event.


Chairperson of the JPC Central Advisory Board cum Assistant Commissioner (Support) Lam Hiu-tong presided over the meeting under the theme of "From strength to strength". Superintendent (Community Relations) of Police Public Relations Branch (PPRB) Ng Chui-ting reviewed the JPC activities and achievements in 2017 while Chief Superintendent of PPRB Tse Chun-chung outlined JPC's development plans for 2018.


The luncheon following the meeting was graced by the presence of Secretary for Security Mr John Lee, who is the JPC Honorary Chief President; and Commissioner Lo Wai-chung, who is the JPC Honorary Deputy Chief President. Mr Lee and Commissioner Lo presented certificates of appreciation to JPC Honorary Presidents and JPC volunteers for their contribution to the JPC Scheme. Commissioner Lo also appointed the new members of the 2018-2019 JPC Central Advisory Board. In addition, the JPC kick-started its Instagram to strengthen communication with its members and other young people.


To promote the JPC Scheme, world-class racing cyclist Ms Lee Wai-sze, leading bowler in Hong Kong Mr Wu Siu-hong, barrister Ms Lo Man-yee, artiste Mr Wong Ho-yin and singer Ms Wong Shan-yee were appointed as the new JPC Ambassadors. They would help promote JPC activities and encourage young people to pursue their aspirations and develop positive values. Ms Wong sang the new JPC theme song at the luncheon.


JPC members from different Districts were invited to give performances, including a cappella by Kwai Tsing JPC members from HKSYC&IA Chan Nam Chong Memorial College, and a joint band performance by JPC members from Yau Tsim District and Tseung Kwan O District together with the Hong Kong Police Band.
