The Crime Prevention Bureau (CPB) conducted two sharing sessions at the Detective Training Centre on September 18 and October 15 with the aim of enhancing communication between frontline officers and sex workers' concern groups as well as strengthening officers' professional sensitivity.

Apart from inspectorate officers taking the Standard Criminal Investigation Course and Special Duties Squad Course, Police Translators took part in the sharing sessions for the first time. The Force participants had an in-depth communication with representatives of sex workers' concern groups to learn more about the work of the concern groups and the difficulties they encountered when handling cases. The representatives also spoke on ways to manage the emotions of people concerned in handling cases involving sex workers.

The Police Translators said the sharing sessions enabled them to better understand sex workers' concerns, thus they could communicate with them more tactfully when performing interpretation duties. The concern groups also treasured the sharing sessions for increasing their understanding of police work and procedures. They thanked the Force for their ongoing activities to strengthen mutual communication.
