The Senior Force Management and Police College staff expressed gratitude to the Honorary College Advisors for their service and contribution at an annual luncheon on January 10. Commissioner Lo Wai-chung took the occasion to present certificates of appointment to the new and reappointed Advisors.

It is a great honour of the Police College to have invited six new Advisors. They are Dr Lam Ching-choi, a member of the Executive Council; Professor Hui Kai-lung, Deputy Head and Chair Professor of the Department of Information Systems, Business Statistics and Operations Management, Business School of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology; Professor Kara Chan of the Department of Communication Studies of the Hong Kong Baptist University; Dr Maggie Zhao, Director of the Teaching and Learning Evaluation and Measurement Unit of The University of Hong Kong; Graham Mitchelmore, former Chief Superintendent; and Mohammad Munir Khan, former Superintendent.

Delivering a welcoming speech at the luncheon, Mr Lo said that the longstanding support of the Advisors is vital to the delivery of high-quality and professional training for officers. He thanked the Advisors for their expert advice and sharing in the fields of learning technology, knowledge management, leadership and decision-making skills, coaching, communication skills, physical training, quality assurance, court procedures and other topics concerned. He added that this enables the Police College to develop professional and quality training programmes that benefit the officers, the Force and ultimately the community at large.

The Honorary Appointment Scheme was launched in 2006 and the latest appointment brought the total number of Advisors to 28.
