Under the arrangement of the Key Points and Search Division of the Operations Wing, Senior Inspectors Ng Po-kuen, Chu Wai-yin and Chan Yik-chun visited the Singapore Police Force (SPF) from January 13 to 17 to learn about its security operation for the summit between the President of the United States and the leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in Singapore last June.

They called on the Police Security Command (SecCom) and were greeted by Head of Operations and Intelligence of SecCom Superintendent Chan Hee Keong and Officer-in-charge of the Search Cadre Deputy Superintendent Yim Yew Fye. They met the search team, and the management of the team shared the experience of conducting a defensive search of the venue for the summit at the Capella Resort on Sentosa Island. Although the summit was held for just one day, the planning and execution of the search operation was by no means an easy task, given the short preparation time and the extensive security requirements.

Afterwards, the delegates visited the Capella Resort and the perimeter of Sentosa Island to learn more about SPF's deployment for the defensive venue search and its efforts to ensure the security of the venue.

The visit enabled the delegates to learn from overseas experience and better understand the security planning of SPF for the summit. It also strengthened ties between the two police forces.
