The Support Wing held an award presentation ceremony on a Logo Design Competition of the Animal Watch Scheme as well as the Force Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Online Quiz on February 1. Assistant Commissioner (Support) Lam Hiu-tong presented certificates of excellence to 20 officers in recognition of their outstanding performance in the competition/quiz.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms Lam explained the background of the Animal Watch Scheme and the Force's commitment to combating cruelty to animals. The Logo Design Competition was held last October and November to promote the concept of animal welfare and to enhance the professional ability of Force members in carrying out relevant duties. The response to the competition was enthusiastic, with a total of 147 submissions received. An adjudication panel, comprising members of the Animal Watch Scheme from various government departments, non-governmental organisations, academics and veterinary associations, selected the top five designs.

In addition, Ms Lam stressed that the Force, as a responsible employer, would always attach great importance to work safety and health of its staff. All members of the Force should act in a safe manner. By doing this, Force members would not only comply with OSH requirements, but also act in a responsible way with regard to their families and themselves.

The Force OSH Online Quiz was launched last November with the aim of raising OSH awareness and promoting a safety culture in the Force. The response to the quiz was overwhelming, with a total of 1 311 participants and many of them attaining good result.
