Chairman of Wan Chai District Fight Crime Committee Mr Li Shing-kuen presented banners to Wan Chai District (WCHDIST) Commander Tse Kwok-wai and officers of the District on January 23 in recognition of their professionalism in detecting a telephone deception case.

Last October, an employee of Mr Li's company, Ms Chan, received a phone call from a person impersonating a Mainland public security official. The caller alleged that Ms Chan was involved in a money laundering case and asked her to pay a surety immediately. Ms Chan sought the help of the District Intelligence Section and District Investigation Team 1 of WCHDIST via Mr Li and the Police Community Relations Office of WCHDIST. After investigation, officers arrested a fraudster when he turned up to collect the money.

Mr Li expressed gratitude to the officers for the prompt detection of the case. He encouraged community members and stakeholders to continue supporting WCHDIST in fighting and preventing crime.
