Commissioner Lo Wai-chung hosted a thank-you dinner at the Police Sports and Recreation Club on March 12 to express his appreciation to officers for their support in the Hong Kong Police Force 175th Anniversary Open Days.


The Open Days were successfully held at the School of Foundation Training of the Police College on January 12, 13, 19 and 20, and attracted over 35 000 visitors, including the Chief Executive and Principal Officials of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The event projected a professional and caring image of the Force and enhanced officers' sense of professional pride and belonging.


About 580 officers from different units, including the Police Band, the Drill and Musketry Unit, the Learning Technologies Division, the Police Dog Unit, the Force Escort Group, the Airport Security Unit, the Counter Terrorism Response Unit, the VIP Protection Unit, the Special Duties Unit, the Government Flying Service and various arts and sports clubs of the Force, attended the dinner. Mr Lo complimented the officers for their contribution which made the Open Days a great success.
