Director of the Hong Kong Police College Cheung Ching led a five-member delegation to attend the first preparatory meeting for the 14th Symposium on Police Studies of the Strait cum Hong Kong and Macao in Quanzhou, Fujian Province, from March 23 to 26.


The delegates discussed the theme of the symposium with police representatives and scholars from the Mainland, Taiwan and Macao. It was decided that the symposium will be held in Hong Kong from October 22 to 26 on the theme of "Optimising the use of Smart Technology to enhance Police Efficacy and Cross-jurisdiction Police Co-operation".


The preparatory work for the symposium has started. A Force Steering Committee, led by Superintendent Kung Hing-fun, has been set up to take charge of the secretariat work of the symposium. Officers interested in submitting papers for the symposium should stay tuned with the Force NoticeBoard for details, such as sub-themes and assessment criteria of and the deadline for the submission.


Meanwhile, the delegates also visited the Special Weapons and Tactics Team of the Quanzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau to learn about their training and operational work.
