Two representatives from the MTR Corporation Limited (MTRCL) and some community leaders, including Chairman of the Tai Po District Fight Crime Committee Ms Lee Sai-yin and Chairman of the North District Fight Crime Committee Mr Deng Kai-rong, presented pennants to Tai Po District (TPDIST) Commander Lee Kwok-chung and officers of Crime TPDIST on March 29 in recognition of their efficiency and professionalism in detecting two crime cases.

On February 10, two culprits damaged a handrail on a footbridge in Tai Po and threw it onto a cable of the railway line. The train service of the MTRCL was thus suspended. Upon intensive investigation, officers of District Crime Squad 3 swiftly apprehended the culprits.

Another case occurred on February 26, during which two culprits entered a village house at Fanling Wai in Sheung Shui and assaulted a victim, causing injuries to the victim. The culprits also stole a recorder and a monitor of a closed-circuit television. Upon in-depth investigation, officers of District Anti-Triad Squad 1 promptly arrested the culprits and two other men.
