A Blood Donation Day co-organised by Kowloon East (KE) Region and Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service (BTS) was held on April 16 at the KE Operational Base with 57 officers participated and 50 bags of blood collected.

Owing to COVID-19, the blood inventories have been running low in public hospitals as donor numbers plunged and blood drives have had to be cancelled. KE Region has therefore arranged this blood donation event to guarantee timely replenishment of blood inventories to support those in need through collective efforts of our officers.

“It only took me a moment and a little bit of pain to save lives through blood donation while earning myself some health benefits, why not doing it again?” said Chan Chi-keung, Sergeant of KE Road Safety Office.

“It is my honour and duty to serve the community and fulfil social responsibility through participating in this meaningful and life-saving cause,” said Cheng Sze-man, Police Constable of Railway District.

KE Region will continue to collaborate with the BTS to host blood donation day to support our community. Interested donors may visit the following link for more details (https://www5.ha.org.hk/rcbts/?lang=en).
