Commissioner Siu Chak-yee led a 16-member delegation to visit the Singapore Police Force (SPF) in late February. During the visit, he met with Director of Central Narcotics Bureau of Singapore Mr Sam Tee and Commissioner of SPF Mr Hoong Wee-teck to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SPF on future cooperation.

The Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF) and SPF first signed a MoU on Police Cooperation in 2012 and renewed the agreement in 2015. A new MoU has been signed this time to strengthen collaboration between the two Forces in criminal investigation, intelligence exchange and police training.

HKPF also shared with its Singapore counterpart the experience in Operation TIDERIDER. Some members of the delegation, including Regional Commander of Marine David Jordan, Chief Superintendent (CSP) of Public Relations Wing Tsang Shuk-yin, CSP of Information Systems Wing Wong Chun-yue, Senior Superintendent of New Territories North Regional Crime Headquarters Chan Kong-ming and Deputy District Commander of Sau Mau Ping District Justin Shave, were key commanders of Operation TIDERIDER. Officers from both sides conducted in-depth exchanges during a seminar.

The delegation visited various SPF units, including the Anti-Scam Center, Technology Crime Division and the Woodlands Division, to exchange views with the local officers on the latest developments of police work. Subsequently, Commissioner Siu Chak-yee met with Mr Sam Tee to share experience in anti-drug operation and intelligence collection, as well as analysing current world drug situation and exploring future cooperation opportunities.
