MPTS recognised under QF

The Professional Certificate Programme in Marine Policing organised by the Marine Police Training School (MPTS) passed the accreditation on April 17. It is now recognised under the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (QF) at QF Level 4, equivalent to the same level as an Associate Degree or a Higher Diploma. During the assessment, the accreditation panel comprising scholars and retired marine law enforcement experts met with the Support Bureau of Marine Region (MAR) and gave positive comments on the management, teaching staff, the programme and facilities of MPTS. The accreditation affirms the professionalism of MPTS, frontline MAR officers and the Sea Standards Division, as well as the quality of the programme. MPTS will award the graduates with Professional Certificate in Marine Policing to recognise their professional standard.

Collaboration with HKAGE

Moreover, Regional Commander of MAR David Jordan and Executive Director of the Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education (HKAGE) Dr Jimmy Wong signed a Collaborative Framework Agreement on April 24, promising to cultivate the leadership and law-abiding awareness of the HKAGE students through maritime policing experience. Being the first disciplined unit to collaborate with the HKAGE, MAR will provide maritime and leadership training for the trainees, with elements of national security and crime prevention incorporated in the programme.
