The Force organised a premiere gala for its latest promotional video, Guarding Our City with Faith – The Prequel (The Prequel), at the Police Headquarters on June 20. Officials of offices of the Central People’s Government in Hong Kong, Director of the video Mr Lam Chiu-yin, representatives of participating government departments and institutions, community leaders, members of Fight Crime Committees and the media attended the event to promote the positive image of the Force among the public.

Commissioner Siu Chak-yee and Director Lam talked on stage at the premiere, sharing the difficulties encountered during the production. The Commissioner stated that the Force hoped to showcase to the public the most authentic side of the Police by deploying regular officers in the filming. Director Lam applauded the participating officers for casting their roles professionally and naturally, successfully demonstrating the challenges faced by frontline officers day in day out.

After releasing the highly acclaimed promotional video Guarding our City with Faith in 2021, the Force once again collaborates with the renowned director Mr Lam Chiu-yin this year to produce the new promotional video, the Prequel, which tells the entire process of the Police in arresting the leader of the terrorist organisation 48 hours before the hostage-taking incident in Guarding Our City with Faith. It is hoped that with Emergency Unit running through the storyline, the challenges faced by frontline officers who are on duty round the clock can be shown to members of the public. The Prequel lasts 30 minutes, spanning over air, sea, and land. Over 900 people took part in the filming. In addition to regular officers, officers from the Auxiliary Police Force, members of Junior Police Call, family members of the officers, and Recruitment Spokespersons were invited to participate in the production, with a view to reflecting the Force’s motto “Serving Hong Kong with Honour, Duty and Loyalty”.

The Prequel was broadcast on TVB Jade on June 24, and the full version is now available on the Force’s social media platforms.
