To explore the opportunities and challenges brought forward by the rapid development of technology to policing in the future, the Force will host the International Symposium on Cyber Policing between September 13 and 15 to bring together leaders of law enforcement agencies in the Mainland and overseas, as well as distinguished scholars, experts and practitioners from communication, innovation, finance and cyber security industries worldwide for sharing insights collectively and fostering international policing collaboration so as to combat the ever-evolving technology crimes in the new era and reduce the risk of cyber security incidents to public safety.

This Symposium will be the largest international conference hosted by the Force since 2002. To ensure smooth progress of the Symposium, an organising committee was established in January in respect of the programme rundown, venue design, guest reception, transportation and security etc. Various training and exercise have also been conducted.

Chairperson of the organising committee, Assistant Commissioner (Crime) Chung Wing-man says, “We are prepared and ready to showcase the spirit of affinity, sincerity and hospitality to the leaders of Police Forces or technology industries of the participating guests, with a view to creating an environment that will benefit attendees for strengthening the overall capability worldwide in combating crimes derived from technology.”
