The Scholarship Presentation Ceremony of the Police Children’s Education Trust and the Police Education and Welfare Trust for the 2022/23 school year took place at the Police Officers’ Club on August 22. Commissioner Siu Chak-yee, former Chairperson of the Joint Investment Advisory Board of the trusts (JIAB) Ms Tsang Wai-sze, and Chairperson of JIAB Ms Au Pui-yee officiated at the ceremony and presented certificates to awardees and parents.

The two trusts have been providing scholarships, bursaries and grants for police children since their establishment some five decades ago for motivating the awardees to study hard and contribute to society. For the 2022/23 school year, the trusts disbursed over $13 million in subsidies.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Commissioner encouraged the awardees to keep working hard, thereby equipping themselves and broadening their horizons to make contributions to society in the fields of their studies. He especially thanked Ms Tsang for her significant contribution and professional advice on investment and management of the trusts over the past 12 years. In her speech, Ms Tsang congratulated the awardees and encouraged them to work hard, grasp every opportunity, set personal goals for themselves and develop their potential for contributing to society.

By means of a pre-recorded short video, the awardee of the Scholarship for Outstanding Talents Ms Chan shared at the ceremony her learning and performance in international music competitions.
