The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Junior Police Call (JPC) was held on August 16. It was the first time that JPC’s AGM took place at the Junior Police Call Permanent Activity Centre and Integrated Youth Training Camp at Pat Heung (JPC@Pat Heung) and on the same day as the Launching Ceremony of JPC Summer Camp. The Chief Secretary for Administration Mr Chan Kwok-kei, the Secretary for Security (S for S) Mr Tang Ping-keung, Commissioner Siu Chak-yee and Assistant Commissioner (Public Relations) (ACP PR) Chan Sze-tat officiated at the ceremony.


The AGM this year, chaired by ACP PR Chan Sze-tat, was attended by more than 160 guests. Certificates of appreciation were presented to 17 JPC Honorary Presidents, 27 JPC school club representatives, six JPC school club supervisors and 18 voluntary instructors to gratify them for their support to JPC. Moreover, seven Advanced Leaders received Outstanding Awards.


Upon conclusion of the AGM, the Launching Ceremony of the Summer Camp started immediately. Themed “Be a Leader - Fight Crime Together”, the Summer Camp this year was held in the forms of several two-day overnight camps and day camps to provide training to more than 300 JPC members. The activities included flag-raising and Chinese-style foot drill training, games to promote crime prevention messages and detective games designed by JPC summer interns. The activities aimed at enhancing the participants’ resilience, team spirit and leadership skills, and promoting crime fighting messages among JPC members through diversified training.


Speaking at the ceremony, S for S cum Honorary Chief President of the JPC Scheme Mr Tang Ping-keung quoted President Xi Jinping’s reply letter to secondary school students, encouraging young people to gain a deeper understanding of global trends and delve into the history and culture of the country and national affairs. ACP PR cum Chairperson of the JPC Central Advisory Board Chan Sze-tat mentioned at the ceremony that JPC held nearly 30 exchange tours to the Mainland. It was hoped that through these exchange activities, JPC members’ understanding of the history of the country and their national identity would be enhanced, and they would experience the opportunities brought about by the development of the country to the younger generation.
