The fourth station of the Good Citizen Award (GCA) roving exhibition was held at Phase 1 of Sha Tin New Town Plaza between October 19 and 25 to promote messages of crime prevention, community engagement, collective action and all citizens to safeguard the city together. Public Relations Wing, in collaboration with various units and formations, gathered all the mascots for the first time and formed the Guardians of Justice (GOJ). The GOJ members took turn to introduce their respective missions on each day of the exhibition, which featured themed photo spots, game booths and a GCA quiz game machine.

The inauguration day of GOJ was held on October 22 in the presence of Commissioner Siu Chak-yee and members of the public. Membership of GOJ comprises the T.A.L.K. of child protection, anti-drug mascot Mighty Cat, Traffic Bear of road safety, “The Little Grape” and mascot of the Anti-Deception Coordination Centre (ADCC) promoting anti-deception, Animal Watchers Programme Spokesdogs Sunny and Zander, Mini Bean of the Junior Police Call, Master Bean of the Senior Police Call and the Good Citizen Alliance promoting good citizen spirit.

The Commissioner stated that given the ever-evolving scams, instead of relying solely on the Force to combat crimes, every society sector should play its role well to cultivate crime prevention and law-abiding awareness in children and educate youngsters to stay away from criminal activities. Moreover, artiste Mr Albert Au and renowned musician Mr Harry Ng were invited to perform the anti-scam song There’s no free lunch. “The Little Grape” also led a group of Grape Ambassadors from Tai Po District to perform two theme songs of “The Little Grape” and ADCC, spreading anti-scam information to the public. The Commissioner also distributed the second season of The Little Grape Animation Picture Book and the newly launched “The Little Grape” watch to the Ambassadors.

The exhibition received an overwhelming response, attracting over 15 000 visitors, who said that the exhibition facilitated their understanding of the efforts made by the Force in crime prevention, and they would share the relevant information with others. The fifth station of GCA roving exhibition will be held at APM in Kwun Tong while the GCA Presentation Ceremony 2023 will be held in March next year. Please stay tuned.
