Patrols improved law and order

(This letter was sent to Yuen Long District Commander Trevor Oakes)

In 1997 Yuen Long police had the vision to deploy a rural patrol team to serve Tung Sun Wong Uk Tsuen, Tai Wai Tsuen, Ying Lung Wai, Tung Tau Tsuen and Tsoi Uk Tsuen.

The team was comprised of Sergeant Lee Tse-yu, Police Constables Hui Sai-lung, Tse Ka-fai, Ng Hiu-tung, Ho Chi-ho, Kiu Wai-man and Wong Chun-keung, led by Station Sergeant Ng Tin-yin.

With their full and honest co-operation, progress was made in deterring crime, evidenced by the improvement of law and order in those villages. Over the years, the officers brought team spirit into full play and built a harmonious relationship with the villagers. Never in our memory have we witnessed this kind of co-operation.

The officers have now been redeployed to take up other duties and in light of this, our villagers will miss them and remember their professionalism. We sincerely thank them for a job well-done.
