Eastern scout skill weekend

The camp helps Eastern kids overcome life's obstacles

Eastern District scouts participated in a weekend camp at the Tai Tam Scout Centre, September 23 and 24.

The United Scout Skill Camp saw the 1095th Eastern Optimistic Scout Group take part in rope climbing, tent setting, a campfire party, cooking in the wilderness and various challenging games.

With an emphasis on teamwork and spirit, they made new friends, and built their communication skills and self confidence.

The group, established in January through the Eastern District Fight Crime Committee, Methodist Centre, Project Phoenix and Tsing Ma Lions Club, gives the youths a positive approach to life and hold meetings every Saturday from 2.30 pm to 5 in the North Point Police Station Scout Room.

Officers' children are welcome, and those interested in joining as either a scout leader or member, should call Roger Lau Ka-ming on 2880-4237 or Flora Kwan Wing-yee on 2880-4331, or surf to www.hk1095scout.org for further information.
