Sports Awards 2000 presented

Fine fit: DCP MAN Dick Lee presents the 2000 Force Sports Awards at the POC

Deputy Commissioner (Management) Dick Lee Ming-kwai presented trophies to scores of Police athletes on March 1, for the Force Sports Awards 2000 ceremony at the Police Officers' Club.

The Purdon Shield went to Airport District, while Senior Detective Police Constable Cheng Chung-ming picked up the Watson Cup for his efforts on the lawn bowls green.

Meanwhile, Mr Lee also presented a host of Force Colours Awards for Sports.

They went to Station Sergeant Yeung Cheuk-chun and SPC Yeung Yeung-cheung (adventure), SPC Hau Tin-sung (archery), Inspector Kwok Ping-tong and Caren Chan Sui-yi (athletics), SPC Law Fuk-fu (basketball), Chief Inspector Clive Howard (cricket), CIP Mark Foster and Superintendent Ricky Hung Hing-lun (golf), Senior Inspector Graham Dainty and SGT Bud Kwai-ming (rugby), SIP Philip Thomas (sailing), SGT Lee Siu-wah and SP Cheng See-hing (shooting), CIP Donnie Choy Yuk-kwong (squash), Assistant Commissioner Peter Yam Tat-wing (table tennis), and Woman PC Lam Sze-man (volleyball). Harry Blud, Assistant Commissioner (Service Quality) and Chairman of the Police Sports Council, commended the athletes for their top sporting contributions to the Force.
