Distributing "Beware of Swindlers" leaflet

Tsim Sha Tsui is Hong Kong's busiest tourism precinct. Syndicated swindlers inducing overseas visitors to join in card games are often found operating here. These unscrupulous individuals often entice visitors to play card tricks resulting in them losing large amounts of cash.

In an effort to address this situation and to protect visitors to our city, Tsim Sha Tsui officers had designed a "Beware of Swindlers" leaflet. A total of 10,000 leaflets were printed and have been distributed to tourist organisations and travel agencies.

Additionally, on August 10, Tsim Sha Tsui Division officers, led by Divisional Commander Chiu Wai-yin, visited guesthouses and areas frequented by tourists distributing the leaflets and explaining the methods used by swindlers in order to heighten visitors awareness of their existence in the area and to explain the various methods employed in the application of these deceptive practices.
