Force Byte-Say hello to your office assistant

This time I would like to introduce you an interactive "Office" assistant, "Clippit". He is one of the Office Assistants included as part of Microsoft Office 2000. Depending on the work to be done, he can help you maximise Office applications and provide quick, easy answers to your questions.

To activate "Clippit", follow these steps:

1. Start any "Office" application, such as Word 2000 or Excel 2000;

2. Select "Help" from the menu bar;

3. Choose "Show the Office Assistant" from the pull-down menu;

4. Enter the question you want to ask and he will respond;

To hide him from "Office" follow these steps:

1. Right-click on Office Assistant;

2. Select "Hide" from the menu;

Simple enough, right? In fact there is not only one character for the assistant. Each one has its own characteristics. You can freely choose the one you like most.

This is the sixth Force Byte column that has been featured in OffBeat and many of you have sent your comments and suggestions to me. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your contributions. I shall continue to write in this column but please don't forget to continue sending in your opinions and suggestions.

Next time I shall teach you how to change your Office Assistant. Bye!
