HKI routines revealed

The operational arrangements and routine police work of the Hong Kong Island Region were introduced to Lions Club members by Hong Kong Island Regional Commander Yuen Ying-lam on September 12.

Speaking at the Lions Club of Hong Kong luncheon meeting, Mr Yuen first briefed attendees on patrols by uniformed branch officers, including the mode and area of patrols, the trial scheme of equipping frontline officers with mobile phones and the Panda Car Pilot Scheme.

Mr Yuen also spoke about the different computer systems in report rooms and how they assisted officers and gave a briefing on the various duties of the region's emergency unit and traffic enforcement and control division, the Regional Command and Control Centre and the Police Tactical Unit HKI Company, including handling emergencies, ensuring smooth traffic flow, conducting anti-crime patrols and carrying out crowd management.
