Lantau South task force solves 10 burglary cases
Regional Commander of New Territories South, Mr Mike Dowie, and several south Lantau community leaders visited Cheung Sha Headquarters, Lantau South Division, last month to present banners and commend officers of a task force for solving a series of burglary cases.
At a ceremony, Chairman of Lantau South Rural Committee, Mr Ng Kam-chuen; Vice-chairman, Mr Cheung Fu; Island District Board member, Mr Wan Tung-lam, and several village representatives jointly presented banners to Lantau District Commander, Mr Mike Cartwright, and Lantau South Divisional Commander, Chief Inspector So Kam-ping, in appreciation of their effort in catching the suspects.
A total of 10 burglary cases were reported and, with the assistance of a Police dog unit, a series of ambush operations were carried out under the command of Mr So.
The two-month ambush operations, led by Senior Inspector Chung Tai-keung, resulted in the arrests of two Vietnamese men, an illegal immigrant and a Mainland resident holding a two-way permit.
